brief

Theorem was invited by the City of Durant to design and construct a new Law Enforcement Center and 911 communications center to serve as the headquarters for the Durant Police Department and the Bryan County Communications Center.

Consisting of 17,000 square feet of office space for administration, detectives, patrol and emergency dispatchers; the facility also contains evidence storage and processing labs, a classroom, training rooms and briefing room. State of the art communications and room for future growth will help to ensure that this new facility can continue to provide services to a growing community.

The Law Enforcement Center’s design is based in the rich history of Durant’s agricultural roots and the fabric of its historic downtown district. The facility gives a nod to this local building vernacular through it materials and proportions, while presenting itself as a contemporary and energy efficient municipal building. The design makes a bold presence towards the street, while welcoming visitors with it’s scaled proportions and natural light filled entrance lobby.
